Like many of us, my life hasn't been easy.  My best friend and father suddenly passed when I was 13 years old. My mother did a great job of raising me from that point on. Under her mentorship I learned to be independent and a survivor. I was trustworthy and self-motivated. On my own, I joined the scouts, DeMolay, and played high school sports. I selected the universities I felt were best suited for me and made my own applications.  After graduating from high school, despite my mother telling me I couldn't take flying lessons, I got a job at Sears to pay for my lessons. Flying immediately became my life and passion. My mother, realizing how important it was to me, gave me her full support and even flew with me. In my second year at the University of Miami, I was honored and privileged to have received an appointment to Navy Flight School. I was under age, my mother reluctantly signed so I could serve. My Naval service was the pivotal point of my life and defined me as a man with honor, integrity, and accountability.

Life often throws us curve balls, I've been financially broke twice in my life, and each time came back bigger, stronger and wiser. Throughout my life, as the saying goes, "The road doesn't meet you half way, the wind is not always at our backs and the sun doesn't always warmly shine on our face." Each disappointment and failure was a life lesson to be overcome by persistence, hard work and eventual success. Like you, I've had dreams broken, and put them behind me and moved on to bigger and better things. My life experiences and accomplishments has been instrumental in helping me become the man I am today. Yet, despite how good we may be, we must be persistent, as each no is closer to a yes and never giving up almost always results in success. There are no skeletons in my closet that can be used to compromise me and there are no vices to hide.
